The organisation

The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center Maastricht (CAC) is the central point of contact in Europe, caring for the needs of current and prospective Mercedes-Benz and smart customers. Forty two different nationalities add diversity and enrich an organization dedicated to satisfied customers and high performance. Employees act as brand representatives ensuring that customers receive personal assistance in their own language at a consistently high level.

Our Customer Service departments answer customer enquiries and complaints, while the Service24h department organizes roadside assistance for customers. Services related to customers mobility guarantee availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Where will you work?

Within the department "Controlling", the Business Controller is part of the Controlling team, which consists out of Business Controllers and Financial Controllers working together for specific parts of the organisation. The Controlling team is responsible for the full plan & control cycle for the location in Maastricht (1500 FTE and a yearly budget of >100 mio EUR).

By using your soft skills you are positioning yourself within the business and provide management with support on the financial situation and provide analyses and guidance on strategic and operational topics. In addition, you strive for operational excellence within the Finance team by innovating and integration of new technologies.

Being part of the Finance department, you will have to manage a large variety of financial and non-financial stakeholders within the MBCAC and in the Daimler organization.

The function

As a Business Controller you:

  • Act as a sparring partner towards management and internal/external stakeholders
  • Challenge and provide insight to facilitate decision making with a strong focus on value creation
  • Support in projects with business case calculations and budget control
  • Perform calculations for new services and/or customers and prepare the resulting Service Level Agreements with the respective business partners
  • Provide effective financial analysis (actuals vs. target) and presentations
  • Support in day-to-day Controlling tasks such as (annual) budgeting and forecasting
  • Act as a quality gate keeper and perform the required internal controls
  • Safeguard the internal control processes for Accounting, Procurement and Hr
  • Improve cost efficiency and cost control of the CAc
  • Continuously improve, optimize and automate processes and departmental structures according to LEAN management principles
  • Actively contribute towards innovation, development, consulting and projects within the controlling department
  • Steer financial controller
Requirements
  • Bachelor and/or Master degree in Finance and/ or Economics
  • Work experience in a similar role or as an assistant/financial controller
  • Able to participate in operational/strategic projects
  • Being able to quickly adapt to a dynamic working environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player - being an active part of a continuous developing Controlling team
  • Stress resistant and able to handle deadlines
  • Service-minded and "hands-on" attitude
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral
  • Ownership and independent thinking
