Director R&D Portfolio Management
Your role: 
This role is responsible for leading the cross-divisional R&D portfolio assessment & review and driving portfolio optimization:
  • Maintain cross-divisional oversight and transparency of the Life Science R&D portfolio related to pipeline progress & output, valuation, risk balance and resource allocation.
  • Enable portfolio optimization and set divisional innovation priorities clearly linked to strategy and with full alignment of the Life Science executive team.
  • Design and lead annual R&D portfolio review and enable required decisions on R&D spending allocation annually.


Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in life science or engineering, MBA and/or post-graduate education required, PhD is a plus.
  • Experience with a top-tier business / strategy consulting firm required, i.e. McKinsey, Bain, BCG (2 years minimum).
  • Must have 10-12 years’ experience in the life science industry with 5-7 in R&D innovation and portfolio management, experience in an operational or R&D role is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in direct interaction with top management and drafting board level analyses/presentations.
  • Excellent English (Written and Verbal).
  • Fluency in one additional language is highly desired (German or French a plus).
 
This position is located in Darmstadt (Germany).
