Group Business Controller m/f/x - Tilburg

Job purpose:
The Group Business controller looks across departments and takes care of the overall company perspective. This makes that the Group Business Controller is an important source for the CFO/CEO, the Management Team and the shareholder (McCain). With analyses, dashboards and insights the Group controller enables the Management of Van Geloven to optimally steer the company. He/she takes the lead in the strategic and financial planning process, coordinate the business unit plans and budgets and ensures permanent predictability of the financial situation of the company. The Group Business Controller monitors execution of plans, signalizes deviations and initiates actions if required. He/she is leading and coaching a team of 4 business controllers and a financial planner. 

Major Accountabilities:

Budget and Forecasts
Coordinate the Group wide budget process by setting clear procedures and timelines. Manage the combination of Top-Down targets and Bottom-Up budgets.
Consolidate all budget aspects, summarize the key messages, assumptions and directions, including potential risks and opportunities, and properly communicate and present them internally and to the shareholder (McCain). Coordinate all Forecast and Latest Estimate updates, ensure their quality and communicate them adequately, thus providing predictability of the company’s financial situation. Continuously improve & professionalize the P&C cycle including implementation of tools, processes and guidelines to improve and optimize the quality of the management information. Preparation of the monthly Board meetings, management information is forward looking, action driven and focused on key drivers, trend’s and ratio’s.

Management Controlling
Support the Management Team in the achievement of growth targets, of performance improvement and in the achievement of planned financial results. Coordinate and steer the definition of financial objectives for Van Geloven and define adequate KPIs to measure achievements. Prepare action plans on improvement of business and financial performance and control the realization of the action plans. Organize and generate fast and accurate management information at group level on sales, costs, stock levels, capex, cash flow, headcount,.. to monitor the successful execution of the Group’s strategy, the operations, their targets and their results.

Organization and Team Development
Ensure efficient and effective business unit and team Controlling. Further develop, motivate and coach the Business Controllers to effectively support and challenge the different Business unit teams as well as projects. Stimulates exchange and implementation of knowledge and the best practices.

Efficiently manage interface to the Shareholder
Be a reliable partner to the Controlling bodies of McCain and establish an open, constructive and efficient communication. Foresee and be prepared for requests to come. Protect company from requests on an overdone detail level.
