(Lead) Engineer | Pumps | 5Kw | Dredging
For a leading client in the field of heavy Dredging pumps / Dredging Equipment, we are looking for a medior / senior Engineer to manage a small, driven team and to design various customer-specific dredging pump systems.
As a Lead engineer you are responsible for the design and development of our customer-specific dredging pump systems. You ensure the coordination of a project and also the management within the project team. You manage about 10 to 12 large projects on an annual basis and in between you are also involved in guiding smaller projects. You manage a team of 2 engineers who will expand in short term given the direction of the company.
The projects you are working on are complicated, challenging and require a lot of simulations. The turnaround time for the various projects is on average around 12 months.
Tasks
- Starting up and coordinating new and existing projects
- Calculating engineers capacity
- Leading and conducting various team and client consultations in Dutch and English
- Drawing and design of dredge pumps and dredge components
- 3D construction / modeling and production drawings of complex assemblies
- Set up, execute FEM / CFD simulations and do hand calculations dredging
Your designs are optimized for all common types of dredging, ranging from high capacity pumps for hoppers to high pressure pumps for CSDs with long supply lines. The smallest fans are approximately 1.20m in diameter with the larger ones reaching up to 2.65m
Functie-eisen
Job requirements
- Bsc level mechanical engineering or demonstrably equal level
- At least 5 years of work experience as a mechanical designer in dredging or dredged working environment
- Experience with Solidsworks, Ansys, Autocad
- Experience with CFD (Computational fluid dynamics)
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of dredging processes, production techniques in particular steel casting and machining
