In order to support the growth of the worldwide Kingfish organization, we are searching for a Senior Design Engineer with a proven record of excellent project delivery to lead and design several key projects within the company.

The Senior Design Engineer will take technical lead on specific projects. You will be responsible for the design and development of our many different systems supporting our aquaculture systems.

This is a key role with responsibilities including designing and developing

• Saltwater pipelines, pumphouse & intake treatment system
• Freshwater wells & intake treatment system
• Recirculation Aquaculture Systems (RAS)
• Wastewater treatment design for RAS
• Sludge treatment design for RAS
• Wastewater treatment for Processing Plant
• Wastewater treatment for human waste
• Live & dead fish handling incl. grading systems
• Chemical handling storage & dosing systems
• Heat pump & boiler systems
• Building & structural
• Civil & environmental

Job description:

As our Senior Design Engineer, you manage all engineering and development activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable, and that meet programme requirements in a safe & environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality. Undertake the development of suitable engineering options for a proposal giving full consideration to safety, reliability, operational capacity modelling, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole life issues.

Furthermore:

• Complete and be able to review all necessary design calculations
• Being responsible for completing, overseeing and checking designs and estimates
• Dealing with enquires and understanding project specifications and requirements
• Reviewing, understanding and defining the scope of works for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls
• Prepare initial project programme of works and check those generated by others
• Attend site as part of the project team for design and project progress meetings and or surveys
• Assist Project team with identifying any design issues identified at commissioning stage
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in your specialist area

For this position, we are looking for a real pioneer with:

• Bachelor of Master degree with technical background
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience
• Good understanding of manufacturing/ assembly/ installation methods
• Good written and oral communication skills in English (and preferably Dutch)
• Knowledge of, and skill in 2D CAD (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD software (Inventor / Revit)
• You like to travel abroad 20-40 days pr. year for e.g. meetings with designers & engineers in Europe and North America

 Preferred Skills and Education

5-10 years of experience with one or multiple of the following elements:

• Recirculated aquaculture systems (RAS)
• Wastewater treatment systems (municipal systems)
• Automatization (PLCs/programming, process & instrumentation, networks
• Chemical handling & dosing systems (NaOH, HCl)
• Chiller, heat pump & boiler systems
