Senior Specialist Financial Planning & Analysis
Purpose of the role

Our Finance team brings together our financial perspectives into our overall strategic and tactical decision making. We use state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting and performance evaluation. This allows the organization to continue advancing medical innovation and improve lives. The Senior Specialist Animal Health Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will provide planning, financial analysis and reporting support to the Boxmeer and Global Research & Development (R&D) operations.
Welcome in our team
The Global Finance (R&D) Team is a small but enthusiastic international team based in both Boxmeer, The Netherlands and Madison, USA. You will be interacting with leading research scientists as well as the local Finance Accounting Team in Boxmeer and the Regional European Shared Service Center in Prague. The lines in our Finance Team are short and give a good opportunity for a proactive mindset to think along in ways to improve our service to the business.
Main responsibilities
• Act as a business partner to the Dutch R&D Management and establish creditability quickly through understanding of business issues and providing sound financial analytical support;
• Lead Dutch R&D month-end closing & reporting activities including cost center tracking and prepare monthly drivers commentary to enable business to make appropriate decisions;
• Analyze actual spending vs. budget and forecast on a cost center basis to ensure forecasts are met and provide financial support on the forecast and budget process for the Dutch R&D organizational and capital expenses and headcount. Review Study Spend accruals to ensure Department Heads are in-line with progress and spend rate of external study spend.
• Provide support for the R&D Biological and Pharmaceutical grant authorization request process used to initiate new external studies;
• Provide business case support for Dutch R&D capital investment projects;
• Coordinate and support the Dutch based R&D subsidies, in particular the WBSO subsidy;
• Collaborate with the Prague Business Support Center to coordinate between business and shared accounting administrative services;
• Identify process improvements to streamline month-end close and other activities to decrease time and complexity of tasks;
• Complete ad-hoc FP&A activities as needed.

Functie eisen
Your profile• Minimum of a Bachelors' degree (preferably in Finance or Accounting);
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in in a Financial analysis, planning or reporting role;
• Strong knowledge of finance systems, planning and reporting;
• Demonstrated ability to develop, evaluate, organize, direct, and deliver on operational objectives;
• Proactive approach to problem solving;
• Results driven and process orientation;
• Ability to interact in cross functional teams and with senior management members;
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English as well as presentation skills;
• Good knowledge of systems (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, BPC).
