Job Summary
The Atkins’ Aerospace division is a progressive and expanding part of the Atkins group of businesses, an international company with over 17500 employees worldwide. We provide high end engineering and project management services to the prime aerospace companies. We are a strategic supplier to both Airbus and Rolls Royce and as such we are involved in some of the most challenging and exciting aerospace projects in the world, including the A350XWB and A400M aircraft programmes.
We are now seeking the right individual to join our growing Aerospace structures team in Bremen and work alongside colleagues in the UK, the Netherlands, USA and India.
STRESS ENGINEER (m/f)
To support the delivery of engineering projects and/or activities as well as to provide a responsive, customer-focused service to external and internal clients.

Job Details
Typically the role includes:
- Stress analysis of metallic, composite or hybrid primary and secondary aircraft structures
- Certification analysis, design support and design structural optimisation
- Integrated working within multi-disciplinary and often international teams
You should have the following qualifications:
- Dipl.-Ing., Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent degree
- Working knowledge of industry tools e.g. Nastran / Patran
- Strong working knowledge (oral and written) of the English language
- Minimum of 2 years practical experience in the analysis of aircraft structures
- Excellent team working and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexibly and to travel
It would be advantageous if you can demonstrate any of the following:
- Experience gained within the aerospace industry and ability to perform analytical stress calculations using standard industry methods (e.g. HSB, Bruhn, ESDU)
- Working knowledge of industry tools e.g. Issy/Isami, Abaqus
- Experience of fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
- Experience of analysis of composite structures
- Good German language skills
